Weekly Newsletter for The Freelancers: Here is the latest newsletter of the week starting on 10th September 2018.
Critical to a freelancer family’s financial security is having a fallback plan. If you have been following this newsletter for a while you will know that I am a member of both the Media Entertainment and Arts Alliance (Union) in Australia and the Freelancers Union in the United States, which has international members.
The reason why I joined the Freelancers Union in the United States is that they are undertaking many reforms to help the freelancing community. I believe that their initiatives will spread globally.
Sara Horowitz started the Freelancers Union. You can read about the Freelancers Union here and Sara Horowitz here.
On my twitter account, I follow the tweets of Sara Horowitz, Freelancers Union, and the current CEO of Freelancers Union.
My recommendation is that you should be following the development that is being pioneered to better provide a fallback plan for the global freelancing community. Here is why (a tweet from Sara):
Excited to share that I’ve teamed up with @freelancersu to start
#Trupo and address one of freelancers’ biggest challenges – episodic
income. This is a huge step in building the next-gen safety net.

This is of global importance to the freelancing community even though you may not be able to participate in your country, but you can ask your local member of parliament what is being planned to help the freelancing community.
This is why it is important that you follow this development it is about your financial security. This is especially true for Australia, where I live, in the run-up to the next Federal election due next year.
Motivate Yourself!
“If you don’t think your anxiety, depression, sadness and
stress impact your physical health, think again. All of these
emotions trigger chemical reactions in your body, which can
lead to inflammation and a weakened immune system. Learn
how to cope, sweet friend. There will always be dark days.”
– Kris Carr
Critical To Freelancing Success Is Being Motivated To Understand And Control Your Emotions
When you are the boss of your business and in control of everything as a freelancer, you have to train your brain and emotions to switch off or you will start to worry about the future at night. Joseph Liu has written 4 emotions that keep solopreneurs up at night. Joseph’s article appears in forbes.com which you can read here.
In the final analysis, to stop thinking about the future you need to control your emotions. Shainna Ali has written 10 tips to help you take control of your emotions. Shainna’s article was written for forbes.com and you can read it here. Productivity Tip of the Week
Vital To Your Future Productivity Is Your Engagement In The Global Freelancing Community
It does not matter what skill set you use to make your living your future productivity and security matters. Upwork Q1 Skills Index now shows that there are 5,000 skills that can be offered over the internet. You can read about that here.
In many countries, the required reforms have not started to better help the freelancing community improve their income and financial and cybersecurity.
It is important that you not only make your wishes known to your local members of parliament but engage and support the international freelancing community as they start to campaign for reforms.
Here is how to follow the building of the future safety net for freelancers by following the campaign here.
Safety nets are ultimately about ensuring your productivity when things go wrong, but these reforms do not just happen they require your support and following the activists that speak up and show initiative on your behalf.
Work-Life Balance Tip of the Week
Smart Freelancers Know That They Have To Be Self-Starters In Managing Their Work-Life Balance
If you have a family you will know that unexpected happenings occur and they can overwhelm you and your plans to manage your work-life balance and get things done. It might be a sick child having an asthma attack requiring a trip to the hospital.
As all Mums and Dads know this will change priorities immediately. If a family member needs require long-term attention and the complete dropping of your schedules your ability to be a self-starter and work-life balance takes a major hit. Some writers will call this losing your drive or mojo that freelancers need.
Lolly Daskal has written How to get our mojo back after you have lost it. You can read Lolly’s article here. If you feel that you have lost your passion to persevere have a look inside this eBook because it will help you:
Financial Tip of the Week
What Is Your View Of Success, Is It About Making More Money?
It is not easy to get the work-life balance right when setting your family or individual goals because success for many millennials is often about more than money. This translates into how much focus and direction you should give to your financial activities.
There is an important article written by Grant Sabatier following the suicide of an internationally successful friend. The article is about what his view of success is. The title of the article was To me success isn’t about money, it’s about peace. You can read Grant’s article here. It is an important read for all of us!
Amazon News
We have had a change of Prime Minister in Australia following a party room challenge. One of the Prime Minister’s first priorities will be helping farmers. We thought it appropriate to keep this segment for a few issues because a number of parliamentarians receive this newsletter.
Australia has the worst drought in living memory in some regions at the moment. We have written an article about the need to help them supplement their
farm income which you can read here.
We thought we would investigate whether Amazon Services and technology could help farmers and this is what we found:
It is hard to believe that a farmer can run a business from their farm that distributes products internationally that does not relate to their farm business but helps supplement their farm income. This has occurred because Amazon Services enable you to do just that. You can read about it here.
The weekly AWS news video link to acloud.guru is here. They are the leading trainers globally for AWS freelancers.
Amazon Associates Website Case Study
The latest article on bestsellershourly.com Amazon Case Study website is entitled Smart choices matter for millennial families – 15 reasons why! which you can read here.
We have stopped showing the links for new articles as we have discovered that it could be having adverse impacts on the search engine optimization of the website Best Sellers Hourly. We will advise you when new articles are added. They are currently being worked on.
